The Vouga Valley Line, also known as the Vale das Voltas – due to its very rugged and winding route – remains to this day the main sustainable transport system in the Terras de Santa Maria!
With the aim of promoting its role in the region’s intangible cultural heritage and tourism, the project ‘À Volta do Vale das Voltas’ was launched, organised by the AMTSM (Association of Municipalities of the Terras de Santa Maria).
To bring the project to life, a programme of cultural activities was organised to highlight its significant natural, cultural and scenic value, including seven events, a travelling exhibition and a commemorative book. All these initiatives were publicised both on social media and on the website created for the project.
